The Castle School

The Castle School is the lead school for Affinity Teaching School Alliance

We teach over 1,200 students aged 11-16 at our extensive campus off Wellington Road, where we foster a supportive, family atmosphere and a strong sense of belonging for every student. Our aim is for every child to achieve, participate and belong, and this is at the heart of everything we do at The Castle School. Rated as ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted, we have been for some years now not only at the top of the performance tables in Somerset but in the top 5% of schools nationally for academic achievements.

We believe in the absolute moral responsibility we have for equipping students with the best possible exam results; we know that this opens doors for students and equips them with outstanding attitudes and a strong moral foundation. Equally important is nurturing every student’s potential beyond the curriculum through the huge range of enrichment available and we aim that every child participates in enrichment activities. This success is not simply the result of the outstanding teaching at The Castle School, but the strong family ethos and sense of belonging that we engender.

We are very, very lucky to have exceptional staff here at The Castle School. All staff are very focused on student achievement and the relationships between students and staff are outstanding. There is a very welcoming and cheerful staffroom and a great atmosphere in staff briefings, which are usually characterised by good humour.

Court Fields School

Court Fields School is a great place to learn. We are a happy and friendly school where teachers and students enjoy working together. We have a strong ethos of integrity, respect, kindness, resilience and responsibility which are our guiding values. We expect high standards from ourselves and our students and strive to achieve the very best for every child. The safety and welfare of every child is paramount and takes priority over everything we do.

At Court Fields we pride ourselves on our outstanding pastoral care, our varied programme of enrichment and extra-curricular activities and our commitment to developing the whole child.

Court Fields converted to an Academy in January 2014 and is part of The Castle Partnership Trust. Our Governors are highly aspirational and work closely with staff and students to ensure we deliver a high quality education to all children in our care.

Our approach is that every child achieves, every child belongs and every child participates in the full life of our school. We are proud of our students and what they achieve in their GCSE’s which continue to improve year on year. Our House system and tutor system ensure that students feel part of a family within our school which gives them a strong sense of belonging. We expect all students to take part in at least one club, one residential and one outdoor pursuit in their time at Court Fields which we believe builds character, confidence and resilience.

We are a school of 765 students aged 11-16 located in the beautiful semi rural town of Wellington in Somerset. We enjoy excellent accessibility to the County town of Taunton, the M5 corridor, the stunning Jurassic coast and the rolling Blackdown Hills (AONB) home to the famous Wellington Monument.

We have excellent facilities to include 7 dedicated computer suites, large field spaces and an impressive Sports Hall.

Wellesley Park Primary School

Wellesley Park Primary School joined The Castle Partnership Trust in September 2018. Wellesley Park is a ‘good’ school (Ofsted 2015) set in a beautiful semi-rural location. It is a primary school that fosters a support, family atmosphere and a strong sense of belonging for every student.
